🐅they’re different!

For the last time

Bromius is not Bacchus

Bacchus is not Dionysus

Dionysus is not Bromius

But Bromius is Dionysus.

Get it?  Got it?  Good.

Also maenads are not exactly bachantes but they’re similar enough that the words can be used interchangeably in most day to day contexts.

  1. Mikey says:

MAENAD is allowable in Scrabble and Countdown. It’s an anagram of the equally implausible ANADEM but if you’re looking for it on your rack it might be best to remember that it is AMEND plus an A.
