Silence is a Kind of Talking

We say things by who we are.
And who we are says things by being us.
We have the power to invite speech from silent things — a dog a day a sky — by looking at them expectantly, so their silence becomes talking too.
And what they say is sometimes that they have asked us to do this.
But not always.

I am listening to you at this now moment. You are intriguing and I like your face.
Your writing reminds me a bit of E. E. Cummings. Thank you so much for your mind and wit. Fondly, Laurel
